Our Lodge

Our Lodge

Being a lodge with a military and historic connection, we are fortunate enough to have several display cases at the Masonic Centre in which we can show some of our growing collection of artefacts. The camaraderie and support by the members of each other and their extended family members has been recognised and mentioned by new members as a very welcoming by-product of joining our Lodge.

We would wholeheartedly agree with this and enjoy spending time with like-minded people. We have a dedicated Welfare Officer (Almoner) who liaises with members and their family in times of distress or need so you will always feel support and part of a big, caring family.

Our members' interests are varied and are family orientated and include; historic and National Trust tours, museums, cycling and motorcycling, football supporting, golf, martial arts, clay pigeon shooting, as well as gardening and ballroom dancing. We also aim to meet up socially when we can for outdoor drinks and food at a local pub.

Thinking about Joining?

To become a member, you will be someone who can commit to a regular attendance at Lodge meetings. You will want to contribute to the life and work of the Lodge itself both at the meetings and during other times of the year.

Within the temple we take our ceremonies very seriously, encouraging all of our members to take part at whatever level, even in a small way. At Burma Kohima the style of masonry that we practice is 'Emulation Ritual'.

However, the most important reason for attendance is to enjoy the evening.
